I purchased a refurbished Singer 301 off ebay for a very good price, but it came with no accessories. I only intend to use this machine for quilting so I was wondering for those of you who quilt on this machine, where did you purchase your walking foot and FMQ foot.

April1930sshop.com has a great FMQ foot. I don't have a walking foot for this machine. So far, I haven't needed one. I do like the SITD foot and sometimes, the 1/4 foot. I also purchased a new tire for the bobbin winder and a tension spring. I haven't change the tension spring yet.

Blackberry,

I had to purchase a walking foot for my 301. The generic slant walking foot did not work on my machine. I had to get the singer brand foot. If you can try out the walking foot on your machine before purchase, it would probably be a good idea.

If you have a sewing dealer nearby that deals in Singer machines they should have the necessary walking foot for you. Just take the machine with you and try it out there, I know the sales guys will love seeing the machine and will do what ever it takes to get you the right part for you.
