If any of you have a Singer 503 in a cabinet, I could use your help! I cannot figure out how to attach the knee lever to the cabinet. It looks like it may screw onto the hardware inside the cabinet but a screw was not included with the machine (I bought it used) and I don't see where it would screw in anyway. Any help would be appreciated!

Until you find out how to attach the lever, (which may be broken beyond repair) you can just slide the foot control out of the bracket and use it on the floor as a foot control. It slides either straight up or straight down to get it out of the bracket.

Replacing the entire bracket and knee lever is easy and relatively cheap, but until then, you don't have to be without a machine. :)

Is it the factory knee lever that has the foot control slipping into a cradle and the knee lever hitting the button on the controler?

I have a complete setup for the knee lever sitting in my studio if you need parts of the whole thing.

Billy, I am not even sure what it is supposed to look like. The pedal fits nicely in the bracket, and the lever hits the button on the pedal. My problem is figuring out how the KNEE LEVER

Sorry, I sent that last one by mistake. My problem is trying to attach the KNEE LEVER to the hardware inside the cabinet. I may be missing a part, I don't know. Do you have a photo of what it is supposed to look like?

Can you take pictures of the knee lever and the bracket that is attached inside the cabinet? Maybe we can draw on your photos and show you how one fits onto the other.

I think the the knee lever should SLIDE down into the hardware from the top of the hardware. Does that make sense?

Here are a couple pictures, one of the hardware inside the cabinet, and one of the knee lever. I hope someone can let me know if I am missing some parts, or how to attach the lever. Thanks for any help you can give me.

On my 503, the control slides into the bracket on the top picture. Hope this makes sense.. If you need me to, I can take a picture if it. I just had surgery on my right hand so I am down to one hand...
