Singer 7469Q

I would certainly sew on one before buying it. If it feels right and has the features you like then it will be right for you. Have you checked out the Brother CS-6000? It's an real nice machine with lots of features not found on most for the price. Amazon.com has a great deal on them now.

I just bought a Singer 7470. Sounds like the 7469Q may be pretty close. I love mine. I've only had it two months, so I don't know how long it will last, but for the money it has some great features. I would highly recommend it. If you want to spend thousands, buy a Viking or Babylock, but if you are like me, you don't want to mortgage your house to buy a sewing machine. I don't think you would regret buying a Singer.

Thanks everyone
I'm still up in the air about it. I wasn't able to look around the store to long, hubby was out in the car. I didn't see one to test drive. I'll be able to get a better look this coming week.

kathleen...keep checking all the machines out if you have time. Not only is it fun but there are so many different options and benefits on the new machines. As everyone always says, make sure repair isn't too far. Was also told when I was out shopping to be careful what the insides are made of. Too many all plastic machines out there...which was my old machine that died. This is an investment! Do keep us posted...it is always so exciting and so much fun to have a machine work great for you and it makes quilting so much easier! Skeat that loves her Janome 6600 and my Janome 3200(this was my starter, smaller machine w/no fancy bells and whistles...and, now is my loaner and class machine)
