Has anyone used this type of machine? I have had it for 8 months now and I am afraid of it. Yes I will admit this thing scars the pants off of me. I tried to embroider a flag and well lets just say they (my family) will not let me near it. I have issues with it sewing at the start I guess I wanted to know if it is me or my machine that has issues. Thank you! Nikki

I have one and love it. I must say my first attempt or two with the embroidery did not go well. I followed the steps til I learned how and use it often. I do most of my piecing on too. Just go slow and read all the directions. If you can go a Singer dealer and get some instructions.

There is a very active yahoo group. I have one, but I don't use it.

I love mine, too. I don't use the embroidery module very often so I have to get out the manual & re-teach myself every time. It does have a few quirks but once you get used to them, you'll wonder why your other machines don't beep at you--LOL! It was my first computerized machine and I was scared of it at first but I'm stubborn.

There are at least 2 yahoo groups for the Singer Quantum Futura machines that might help you.

whew!I feel so much better. Thank you so much! I believe my a local sewing and vacuum shop will teach you how to use your machine for free. I just need to do it. I do feel better now!

I have one got it for Christmas last year, I love it - for the most part. I have made 2 prom dresses, 4 flower girl dresses on it, 1 King sized quilt top, 3 lap quilts, 2 WIP king size quilt tops...

I haven't had too many problems with it and I have sewn on it a lot since Christmas. I have had issues with doing embroidery on it. I would like to take a class on this machine for using that function of it. Other than that it's not that bad.

I use mine only for embroidery, love it, just make sure you have your tension on the mark for embroidery and tighten the hoop with the screw driver, if you just hand tighten it can vibrate loose while sewing.

I have one. It is sitting on the floor. under my Baby Lock. In the 8 months I used the singer, it was in the shop 4 times, for the same problem. The machine is easy to use, but for me it was not the headaches. I would not recommend the singer furtura to anyone.

Some of the early models did have trouble with something in the bobbin case. I don't know how or what eventually solved the issue. I remember them talking about it a lot on the yahoo group but mine never had any problems other than operator headspace--LOL.
