Is there a difference? i am fixing to do a quilt and need to top stich it someone suggested using embrodering thread. Please help!!!!!!!!

The embroidery thread would have more sheen, other than that, I don't know why it would be better than regular thread.

Polyester thread does have more sheen, is more stretchy, and does not shrink like cotton thread does. It's a personal preference as to whether you use "embroidery polyester" thread or "quilting cotton" thread.

I use cotton, poly, embroidery thread for quilting and decorative stitching. Solid colors and varigateds too!! What every look you would like, there is a thread out there to use :D:D:D

I have had to use sulky thread (rayon). It seem is the only thread that my viking likes. Of course I only use this thread with top stitching. I use cotton when piecing. But of course I'm still learning.
