I found this at the thrift store yesterday! my Dh bought it for me! it was sitting in the back behind some toys. I dont know if it runs, I dont know HOW to run it, I dont want to harm it! so PLEASE let me know all I need to know! I am willing to take it somewhere to be cleaned... if thats what I should do?

I found cut wires.. I think it goes to the thigh control. someone spliced in a newer cord for the outlet. it has a foot pedal with it... but I couldnt even see where it plugged into? the pedal also is newer.

I dont know a THING about it!!!

THOUGHTS PLEASE

I would take it into a shop and get an estimate on having all of the electrical fixed/checked. The wiring job on the side looks pretty scary!!!

She sure is pretty!!! :D:D:D

I don't like the looks of the electric...take it to a professional, please...The foot controller is a normal electronic controller. It shouldn't be a problem, as long as it fits into the machine. I have never seen that plug used with this type of machine.....

This one sure looks like the effort and expense to get it fixed! Have fun. If you go to singer website and check the serial # you can get the type of machine it is and download an owners manual for free.

RESEARCH Read Learn

Start with the serial number at the Singer site. Check the Vintage thread here - Check Yahoo group sites - put in the model number and read read read.

They can be fun to bring up to safe standards...if you're handy and like doing that kind of stuff...otherwise take it to a professional...with estimates first of course.

Good luck - hope the *bite* didn't hurt too much! :)
