Default Size of finished quilt?

I having been wondering about this for quite sometime. Do your quilts turn out the size of the
pattern you are using, or it it just me, LOL. I know I have mistakes along the way and they don't
come out the exact size they are called for.
Thanks.

I always figured that was what borders were for LOL. My quilts always come out whatever size they come out, then I either trim a border or add one LOL !

Mine never come out exactly. But it's ok with me.

I've actually never TRIED to make a quilt come out exactly as a pattern ... nor have I checked to see if it was right after I made my changes to the pattern. When I finish a quilt ... it is what it is I've never (so far) had a need for a quilt to be an exact size.

I'm with DogHouseMom, I have never made a pattern true to the pattern. I always adapt and change it to make it mine. I have even purchased kits for the fabric colors.

I have a tendency to just start making blocks, then making more blocks until it's big enough, or I'm tired of making that block.

I always start out following the pattern... then I get an "idea" :-) and start adding sashing, or extra blocks, and then of course I run short of fabric... so the answer is NO, my quilts are usually not the size they are supposed to be!

Only once did I have one come out to the size on the pattern, but that's because I did not change anything.

Mine come close but not exact either. I just view their size specs as estimates!!! ;o)
