Hi Guys,

When I visit the board view other sites they all mentions sizes that we just don't have over here in the UK!

Crib and Queen being the main two offenders. Also, it would be good to know if our single and king sizes compare with yours, so my question is........!!!!

Is there anybody out there that knows the measurements of the quilt sizes in inches?

Hugs

Caroline

Maybe this will help:

one inch = 2.54 centimeters

one yard = 0.9144 meter

one meter = 39.37 inches

one meter = 1.09 yards

one yard = 36 inches

So if something is 54 inches and you want to know how many cm it is:

54 inches * 2.54 = 137.16 cm

Here are the sizes of the mattresses and then the size of the quilts (for me it is the 'about' size as I just go by the size of my blocks and then add borders to however long I want the sides to drop).
Crib 27 X 52 inches 45 X 60
Twin 39 X 75 inches 71 X91
Double 54 X 75 inches 86 X 91
Queen 60 X 80 inches 92 X 96
King 76 X 80 inches 108 X 96

Then we have a 'California King' size, but I'm not sure what the dimensions are on that one.

Hi and thanks bearisgrey,

But what I need to know is the actual size of the named quilts...... i.e.

Crib = X by X inches
Queen = X by X inches

etc.

Hugs

I found it very frustrating trying to get a more or less definite "size" for a given use.

Mattrasses are getting deeper. So I usually take the size of the mattress - say queen is 60"x80" and add 15" overhang on side and bottom and then whatever needs to be added to the top for the pillow tuck, if it is going to go over a pillow. If not then 15" on all four sides. This is a start because the depth of the mattress may require additional or less inches. I may my queens 90"x108" if that helps. Kings are about 110"x110"
