Default Central New York Quilt shops

I'm BAAAACK. The dog shows were a bust with 1 Reserve, 2 seconds and 2 thirds. Chooch was a very easy dog to travel with so I did enjoy the trip. Spent lots of time with good friends and visited 3 awesome quilt shops. I always thought that our Lancaster County quilt shops were great, but these 3 Central NY shops blew me away. If you are ever in the Syracuse NY area you have to visit Calico Gals, Mission Rose Quiltery and Patchwork Plus. They are each a quilter's dream. And yes, I left some $$$ at each one.

I would have a very hard time picking a favorite.

Aside from quilting......I have a friend in Florida, whose 2 year old Whippet b*tch, took her 24 reserve yesterday!!!! I always tell her, she could be sitting on 14 points with both majors!!!! Would love to come back to that part of the country...not only for the dog shows but for the fabric too!!

I was glad to read about the three quilt shops you listed as our group is taking a trip in May to exactly those shops as we have never been there before. Thanks for the information

I was born and raised in this area. I agree they are great shops. Patchwork plus is my fav...only because it is the closest to my home town. Patchwork in the last years has built and moved to the location they Are at now. Beautiful building.

I am so glad you had an opportunity to visit these shops and enjoyed them!

I was born, raised and still live in the same town as Patchwork Plus......LOVE that shop. I have also bought 4 Berninas there (kept trading up). To me, the others fall far short....IMHO, of course!

Oh you are going to be so impressed and inspired. I spent so much time just wandering around and staring at the samples. Mission Rose has fantastic kits that include the binding and backing (something that is so rare.) My friends in the Syracuse area are inviting me back anytime. I may have to make them a quilt to deliver so I can visit these shops again.
