Smaller Twister Tree
#61
Janjj, I can't imagine how small that would be! "Picklelady," my quilt--still without borders--is now about 24" wide by 25 inches tall. Bothered by the width, I took off a row of white on each side (not top & bottom.) It's the same layout I showed at top of this topic, minus the two rows. I found border fabric I think I like. I plan a narrow stopper and then final border, probably 3.5 to 4"...I really do love the tree. My twister tools are getting a workout. I've made 5-6 table runners or toppers, two wreaths and the tree. That doesn't include ones I've helped my bee with! (Now I'm working on a pumpkin design and in using them in a patriotic banner featuring an eagle applique. )

there are three rulers to use when making the twister pattern. The 8 1/2in ruler you cut 10" squares, The 3 1/2 in ruler you cut 5 in. squares. The 1 1/2 in. ruler you cut 3 in squares which tends to be minature in size when done. How do I know? because I purchased all three rulers. I have made several tablerunners and placemats using the 3 1/2 in ruler and the smallest one you can make mug rugs with. Haven't made anything with the big one yet.
