Does anyone know how to make Monkey Socks? My grand daughter (16) wanted a sock monkey for Christmas and no one knew! So she asked me if I could make her one since I told her my brother and his wife used to make them and sold them for a good price but that was 30 years ago! Since then she has passed away and there is no asking my brother, he wouldn't know where to start. So I told her I'll ask some of you here and see what we can come up with. OR if anyone makes them to sell please let me know!

I appreciate the help. Thanks ... Kathy :D

I have seen patterns for sock monkeys in the crafts section of pattern books at JoAnn's. Haven't looked recently, though.

Our local Kmart sells the socks for the monkeys, I made about 10 of these one year for Christmas (a long time ago).

The directions for a monkey and an elephant are on the package of socks I bought.

If you google 'red heel sock monkey' you will find tons of information on making them and getting supplies.

My grandmother made them for everyone and I lost her pattern. My solution was to go strait to Ebay. There I found lots of detailed patterns, socks, and instructions for minimal cost! I ended up ordering a mini pattern with the cutest mini socks. My monkeys are only about 4" tall and 3" wide! Good luck and happy stitching :)
