Moda 'Woolies flannel' is a very cozy, nice flannel. I love the Benartex double sided flannels. I've bought some really nice, thick, soft, cozy flannels from fabric.com- I get most of mine from the lqs- where I can caress them.

I've found soft flannels right next to ones that are stuff as a board in the same shop.

One of the nicest, softest flannels I've had was from Walmart

ditto ............ and I've seen them to be nice and soft and fluffy in the store, to only turn into "cardboard" once washed!!! Or to go flimsy and wimpy!!!

And likewise, for the flimsy wimpy stuff to wash up into some of the most lovely cuddly flannels ever!!!

Nope ... sure can't predict what's going to happen once you take it home and wash it up!

my only experience so far has been Moda but I'll swear by it till I'm in the grave! Bought it at Fabric Shack in Lancaster area. Best flannel selection I have ever seen in my life. Highly recommended!

My lqs doesn't carry flannel. My Wal-Mart doesn't carry fabric at all. So I'm pretty much left with Joann's. So far I've been able to find some good soft flannel. But I do have one wonderful flannel panel (Noah and Friends) that I purchased just outside of DC. I'm having a horrible time finding what I want to use as a backing. So I'll be watching your responses for online sources as well.

    NJ Quilter,

I also like Moda. But have not felt their flannels. Thank You for your remarks!

Martha Pullen used to carry baby soft flannel. Never ordered it but she only buys the best so it may be worth a visit to her site.
