Solids other than black...favorite brands?
There was recently a discussion about favorite brands of solid black... It was noted (and I agree) that the RK Kona black tends to ravel, and it is not as soft as some other brands.
i would like to hear your preferences on other colors, including whites, off-whites, creams, and brights.
In general I love Robert Kaufman fabrics but wonder if their other solids have the properties of the black.
Thank you.

Moda Bella Solids are wonderful!!! I have given up on the RK Kona Solids because of the raveling. I made a quilt recently with a RK Jelly roll of brights and a roll of Moda Bella black solids. Well, some of the seams shredded when I washed the quilt and it wasn't the Moda that had shredded. The Moda Bella solids are soooo soft and come in so many delicious colors too! No raveling at all!

I am devoted to Kaufman's Kona solids. I don't know if I'm sent a different quality (doubtful) but I have NEVER had a raveling problem.
The Bella solids are not as true in colour for me; their quality is fine though.
I use a lot of solids; best prices for the Konas are at fabric.com and maryjo's.

i am also a devoted Kona Solids user- i have never had any raveling problems- or rough fabric- all of the Kona solids i have ever used were very good even colors, no fading, bleeding; soft (and like most cottons just get better/softer with age/laundering) and the prices are very reasonable too- i generally purchase Kona solids for $2-$3 per yard less than other quilting fabrics. if i don't dye my own i buy Kona. i've had a few others over the years have never been all that impressed- colors either run- are not true- fade and they tend to be more expensive.

I don't think the black in any line of solids is going to be any different than the other colors in that same line. The only difference is the dye color. That said, I stand by Kona Solid and RJR Cotton Supreme in all their colors. I have never had Kona ravel and, because I prewash, it loses any minor roughness it may have had.

I always use Moda Bella solids, as for Black, Keepsake quilting has an amish black, that feels so silky, whenever I use black I order from them. The first time I ever used it, was to line a Crazy Quilted vest I made. I was really impressed with it.
