Hey all, so I have been planning on making a quilt for each of my husband's 6 youngest siblings. I was hoping to get them done by this Christmas, but that didn't happen, lol. So I pretty much have all of them figured out except one. It's going to be for my 13 year old sister-in-law. Her favorite color is turquoise or anything related to it.
I have been scouring quilterscache.com but I think I'm brain fried now. I am having trouble looking at the patterns and picturing them in turquoise. Do any of you have any suggestions? I'm still fairly new at all of this, and I've never paper pieced before, so I have been looking at anything that doesn't require paper piecing. Hopefully I'll get all 6 done and sent out for Christmas next year. Thanks everyone!

Tuning Twenty would be quick and easy, I just cut one for my daughter, using a variety of star designs. A variety of turq and black/white would be pretty I think.

The Jelly Roll 1600 would be fast and easy. You can have it done in one afternoon. I'm sure you could find jelly rolls with turq's and greens and blues.

Check out Lucky Stars by Atkinson Designs. Very easy but looks more complicated. Hardly any seams to match. I've done several in all different color schemes and they all came out great.

I don't know how to post pictures or I'd show you one that I just made - really quick and easy, but oh so cute. I took a yard and a half of chevron fabric, made a sandwich with batting and coordinating fabric for the backing, typed the person's name into my computer in a bold script font and then enlarged it to about 250 times the original size and printed it out. I traced it in reverse in a coordinating color onto fabric, and appliqued it onto the chevron fabric. Then I quilted it right down the middle of each white chevron stripe, made bias binding out of remaining chevron fabric and bound it. The whole process took me just 2 days, and most of that was hand stitching the binding. I used bright red and white chevron, did the name in turquoise and white small dot fabric, and used a bright white, red, turquoise, pink and green print for the back. It is just absolutely adorable.

Take at look at katier825's avatar (above)--it's a stunning French Braid with turquoise. French Braids are so easy and fast to make, and the results are beautiful. If you are looking for a really fast quilt to make, try a Column Quilt (by Nancy Zieman). You can make a quilt in one day with that method.
