Personally, I prefer to just buy new ones, but I saw this blog, and she swears it works:

IT WORKED for me, I had a blade in that had a small nick in so when I was cutting it left some threads uncut behind, less than a minute and it is now cutting perfectly, now need to get some more kitchen foil, thanks for the link

BTW the only prob is that you get loads of silvery bits about, may be useful to keep for Xmas for artificial snow on ornaments or something :roll:

It is neat someone tried it, and it works! Love the idea of saving the shavings for decorating.

Thanks for the tip. I just bought several pack's at Harbor Freight yesterday. So I should be set for awhile. But a good tip to have when needed.

It will be great when it's 10 pm and the fabric has to be cut and your last blade decides to be dull!

I found some Harbor Freight blades in my purse. Forgot I bought them, they do get rave reviews here.
