How about using the red on 2 sides and the blue on 2 sides like the interior of your blocks?

    ha! We think alike!

Except I was thinking of double layering it ..... red/blue on two sides and blue/red on the other two!

Dont have an answer to border question but I think 2 1/2" of red would make it stand out! But I'm really interested in knowing the name of this pattern?!?! I like this layout

I like your squares very much and I really like the arrangement. I would skip the border and just use a binding. The border piece at the bottom detracts from the impact of the blocks in my opinion.

Awesome quilt! I haven't seen this pattern before. I know you are doing it all from your scraps but you might not be happy with the border if you just make an exception & use the light. I would just buy more fabric, just enough for the border. What ever you decide to do it will look great
