I use this method and make a replacement for Mary Ellen's Best Press. I use the cheapest vodka I can find at the package store. I do not soak anything with the finished product I simply use a spray bottle and spray it on. I wouldn't drink it as I also add stay flo starch to the mixture and also some fragrance oil. Ann in TN

I use 2 cups water, 1/4 c CHEAP vodka, a few drops of 100% essential oil ( I like lavendar), mix it together and put it in my spray bottle (the kind with a fine mist setting). Does exactly the same job as Best Press. For spray starch I use 1 part StaFlo starch concentrate to 4 parts water. mix it and put it in a spray bottle. I keep it in the fridge so it doesn't spoil as fast.

Wow. This is all news to me. Ok, I'm game. Where do you buy the essential oils?

If you live in an area with high humidity it may not be the best thing for you to use. I live in an area with very low humidity, so I don't have to worry about the possibility of the bugs.
