Square Peg Star. Have any of you heard of this star. I am trying to figure out how much material I need to make 16, 18 1/2" squares. I need four 3"x 5 1/4 rectangles and one 3" square, plus one 6" of background fabric. Medium fabric I need two 5 5/8 square and light fabric I need one 6" square. This makes a 18 1/2 inch square finished.

I can give you rough estimates, the problem that could arise is if you cut your fabric different than I do.

Are all three of the first cuts background, if so I calculated 1 1/2 yds. Medium 1 1/6 yds. Light would be 1/2 yd. These don't allow for any mistakes or squaring up, so I would want extra.

Hopefully someone will tell me if mine are correct, it is getting late and I am tired.
