Needles have a front and back so if you are having trouble threading the needle, turn it over.

I have never heard of this. Now I will start looking at my needles differently. Thanks.

Ok - I knew machine needles had a front and a back, but I didn't know hand needles did.

Flat side goes to the back. On the antiques that are threaded to the side, the flat goes to the right (if memory serves).

You are always threading INTO the curved side of the needle.

wait, what? she meant hand needles?

I did not know that either. hmm.

I think she is talking about hand sewing needles. When the hole is punched it is smoother on one side & the thread goes in without catching. Amazing, it does work.
