I am making a scad of 4 1/2" x 2 1/4" flying geese (long story about why this is the size). Can I use a regular ruler to square them up? Or do I have to buy a flying geese ruler and will that even work at this odd size?

Yes you can us any ruler. I made 200 for a border for a UFO last year. This is the one I used.

http://www.olfaproducts.com/SPD/olfa...1152727615.jsp

It has the 45 degree angles merging in the center on the long edge. It is also non slip and easy to use.

I don't use any kind of fancy ruler, just a regular Ominigrip.
