Default Sta- Flo liquid starch for getting really stiff fabric

Has anyone else had problems finding the liquid Sta-Flo starch? It seems like it is not available any longer at Walmarts or other smaller stores in our area of Kentucky.

I can order some from Amazon but the shipping said it would be in 7 - 10 WEEKS...how's that for a quick turnaround, lol.

I love love love stiff fabric when I'm cutting and piecing...whatever will I do? The spray starch doesn't get it as stiff and it costs so much more.

You can get very stiff fabric by mixing your own starch and it would probably cost less
than Sta-Flo. We don't have Sta-Flo here so I mix my own starch and cook it for a minute
to stabilize it. I mix 1/4 cup of cornstarch with 1/2 cup of cold water then add 1 quart of
boiling water. Stir it well and bring to a boil for a min. Let cool.
Sometimes I add more water if I don't want it as stiff as cardboard. Hope this helps.

Put in a request at your local grocery stores and Walmart for Sta-Flo. If people ask for it, the store will often start stocking it.

Oh, look what I got when I thought about looking it up on Walmart online (because they have pickup in stores with no shipping charge):

I wonder if my local Walmart in WI still has it???

Our Walmart still has it. I bought a jug yesterday. If you go to Walmart online you can put in your location and see if any other Walmarts in a reasonable distance have it.

I use Linit. I can mix what ever strength I want. Buy it at Stop&Shop.

Isn't it aggravating when you want a product and can't find it anywhere!

I looked at walmart.com and they say the product isn't available to order even though it comes up. The place on the shelves where it use to sit have already had the labels removed. I'll ask our little local IGA if he can order some.

I haven't tried making my own but I may have too if I can't get some.

I actually just started using it about 9 months ago and have become dependent (well almost) on it.

Oh , I would be so bummed if I could not get my Stay Flo! Makes me want to go and hoard what on the shelf at my Walmart.

I just bought 2 at Walmart yesterday and the shelf was full...here in Vegas at least. I agree, ship to store should do it!

I find it at the grocery store. Maybe try your local stores.
