Stack and Whack quilts are NOT hard, and trust me, if I can do it.....:)

I did take a class but there was really no need to (I had been a quilter for a month, maybe...). The book explains it all. You're just taking a piece of fabric, cutting it at the repeats and stacking the pieces, usually 6 or 8, pinning at the same point thru all the layers. Then you cut strips and then triangles from them.

I'd DEFINITELY get the book over a kit, the book will make sense to you!!!

Not everyone is as careful as they should be when aligning their fabrics for SNW so I would not buy a kit! Besides with the book to guide you, it is not hard to do! Also wouldn't you rather pick your own fabric?

Yes I agree about the fabric. My concern is where do you cut out the triangles or octagons. How do you know where to cut them?
