Does anyone know the standard size for a crib quilt? I just want to make sure my dimensions are correct. Thanks :)

I've seen different answers to this question on this board and they were 36 X 48 and 45 X 60 and 48 X 60....

I guess its what you prefer.

I think I am satisfied with 42x60...both divisible by 6, making my squares 6x6 in and also a width that will allow me to do away with a seam on the backing :) Thanks everyone for the help!

You can make it whatever size you want.

These dimensions are easy to remember 34" X 43". You use only 1yd for top and 1yd for batting and back. One pack of satin binding 4 3/4yds finishes the whole thing up leaving but a few scraps for your eventual G'ma quilt.

my sizes are: large enough to cover the kid and not too big for the bed......
However, most of my charity quilts are about 36"x45" I find that is the best use of the fabric.
Rarely do I make one the width of the fabric 45"x54"
If you are using a packaged batting, then use that size. Warm and Natural comes in a craft size of 34"x43" or thereabout.

New mothers are advised to not use any kind of covering in a crib so make it whatever size you want.

I always use cotton batting. Safer and easier to "breathe through" than poly should the quilt get over baby's head.
