    Default Star Spin Pattern

Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on the Star Spin Pattern? I saw a beautiful Christmas quilts listed on the board a while back? Have questions and would like to see someone putting it together. Thanks for you help.

The Star Spin is a commercial pattern. I have done quite a bit of searching to see if I could find any version of it in the Public Domain. So far, I have had no luck.

The closest I could get was a block that could be adapted to use for a top.

Here is a source for the commercial pattern for a top:

The book Hand Quilt without a Frame by Barbara Schaffeld has pages of detail instructions how to make this pattern. I've seen many variations of the pattern that frames the middle star but the pattern in the book is my favorite. The book is out of print but sometimes on Ebay.

I did mine from a tutorial on this board. It was posted by someone from Russia (?)--anyway the info had been translated into English. Her pictures are good and I was able to make mine following her directions. I cannot find the tutorial, but I have a copy of it stored as a MS Word file. If you want a copy, send me a pm with your email address.

I have been saving links to pictures of different star spin quilts on my blog (formerly my pages). There is also a link to the tutorial referred to above. http://www.quiltingboard.com/blogs/star-spin-b1785.html

I just clicked on the link for this pattern and it told me I was not authorized to view this page. How strange!

I also was told I didn't have authorization to view. First time that has happened.

This is not an easy pattern. I haven't finished mine yet.
