Thank you for the link. This is very easy to follow. I hope to make some as Christmas gifts.

Default My Table Topper

This pattern can be made with however many strips you want to use. Mine is about 45 inches finished. My strips were cut 1 1/2 inches and I used 7 strips. I found to cut the small triangles at each end of the strata and the larger triangles in between saved fabric. I didn't bind mine but sewed lining, batting and top and turned it. I didn't have a pattern but used the you tube video as a guide. I've made three so far and have another one cut ready to sew.

I hope these pictures help some. They really aren't hard. I copied a picture from the internet and used it to refer too. Happy sewing.

I think you can make it any size you want. It depends on how wide your strip sets are. That's the only limiting factor.

Just remember the larger your triangles the wider the strata and the more strips you will need. You may only get two or three cuts from one strata strip.

Also when sewing your strips together press each strip as you sew or you will end up with a wonky strata. It is a good idea to starch the stratas well. Ask me how I know. LOL

Dogwood, Thank you so much! A great picture tutorial! I know this is a really dumb question, but - what is a "strata"?

Sorry I should have called it a strip set. Strata Star is another name for this pattern. Use as many colors as you want in your strip set. I made four strip sets consisting of seven strips to make the one shown.
