Default bernina 430e price/reviews?

Found a Bernina 430e, used for sale. Any experience with this model? I need to ask the seller some questions as to the accessories, etc that are available with this machine. They are asking $2000 (which seems high to me) and said to "make them an offer". Of course, an internet search is not coming up with much info regarding current pricing. Any help would be appreciated! :-)

you might check this link:

I bought my bernina through a dealer and don't think I would buy one elsewhere.

You can check the sold section(not listed) of ebay to see what the model is selling for via ebay. IMO ebay prices tend to be higher than the norm and what you can pay locally, but it should give you a general idea.

There is a yahoo group for this machine along with some of the other berninas. You can go to the yahoo groups site and search for bernina 440. Once you join you can search the website for information regarding the 440 machines.

This is an amazing machine. If you have the ability to get it, I would absolutely dive head first! I LOVE mine, and it does everything I ask of it. The piecing is so accurate, the FMQ beautiful, and the machine is a workhorse- it sews full speed over jeans hems without hesitation.

I got mine this summer and paid around $2,200, with a trade in. It also came with the embroidery module as an incentive (normally that would be another $800 or so).

$2,000 sounds high, because I presume that means there is no warranty. Have it checked by a Bernina mechanic- is everything in good working order. Does it come with a number of feet (they are expensive, that could be a good value.)

Before you buy online, check with your local Bernina dealer to see what deals they have on gently used machines - which will probably come with a warranty. $2000 does sound high to me. I have a Bernina 440, so I'm not familiar with the 430, but contact a dealer first before making a decision.
