I have a set of LED lights (plugs in to either USB port on machine or into electrical outlet) that I bought for $40+ at Stitch N Time in Greencastle PA. They installed so that the machine can be serviced without having to remove and re-install the lights..(different placement for each brand or model of machine).........I put mine on an old Bernina 1630 and the difference is AMAZING! I love them!!

Flickering light may mean you have an electrical short in your machine or the light bulb is coming loose. Tighten bulb, if that does fix it, time to take it in.

I recently purchased a 6 LED Ecolux light strip for my Janome 8900 www.ecoluxlighting.com but I haven't stuck it on yet... : )

I have the bendable bright light on two machines. They are on JoAnn's online site and go on sale half price. Watch for free or reduced shipping. I move the light when I need to rip or thread a hand needle! The strip lighting looks pretty neat too. It is amazing how much brighter your work area is with the LED's.

I also have these lights for 2 of my janomes and don't know what I did without them. On the 6600 I have the 9 lights and still have to use the bendy light from the side. Should have ordered the longer strip. But highly recommend them. I just don't remember them being as high a price as Leah is asking.
