I see the stinky cutting mat has been a problem for many years. I bought one a couple weeks ago, Feb 2024, and as soon as I put it in my car, the strong skunky odor was apparent! I looked around the parking lot to see if someone had run over a skunk!! I've sprayed it with vinegar, washed it, aired it for a week on the porch, still stinks. Will probably return it since I can't have it in the house.

Put it outside or in a garage (someplace not hot). Sprinkle baking soda underneath and on top. Let it sit anywhere between several hours and several days.
