Stitch in the ditch will leave a little of puff to the car seat. Stipple will make it stiffer and not as soft.

I think I would STID on this one. Sometimes if the stippling gets too close together, the quilt is hard and not one you would want to use for a baby. Have you thought about a large meander, maybe?

In my honest opinion (for whatever it's worth...LOL), I wouldn't do a stipple or stitch in the ditch.....I would do straight line quilting in a contrasting color in the sashing and a simple X across the squares.....I think any kind of stitching that has a design will detract from the great fabrics in the quilt....keep it simple and easy!

Welcome to the QB-although I have been quilting for a while I am only just learning how to stippling. Practice is important. Good Luck!

I think I like the ditch method. Whatever you choose, it is very cute.

when I first started fmq, it was easier for my to do just loops and swirls,, Just practice on paper if you want to stipple, after you get a rythm going it gets easier. Just go for it . You did a great job on your first quilt

It looks pretty good so far. I think the all over stipple would work well.
