I suggest that this story should be sent to www.lostquilt.com, The lady that own this site has helped many quilters to retrieve their lost or stolen quilts. Send as many details as possible on the finished quilts. The real quilt police will try to help her in her misfortune.

I repeat the e-mail www.lostquily.com

The lady owning the trailer is the VICTIM. Whether she has insurance is not the point. She is allowed to keep her quilts and the contents of the trailer anywhere she wants to!! It does not matter why!!!! AND she will be lucky if any insurance company will pay $50.00 each for her "blankets", as they call them, much less what they are actually worth, unless she had EACH one appraised. Let's hope that the theif only wanted the trailer and leaves the quilting stuff to be recovered somewhere!

It's really sad people do things like that. I hope she gets her stuff back.

Someone or a group had been doing this and my pastor had a boat in his yard that was stolen. At the fair grounds, trailers have disappeared with a persons livelyhood. Some were repairmen with expensive tools. It's a rash of thefts and I don't think they have been caught. They are even breaking into recycling centers for the raw material. Just like the car theives. This might be easier for them due to the trailer hitch. I hope she can get
her things back, but if these are career criminals, probably not. Give her lots of hugs and prayer that the police can catch them.

ok just went and looked this up. It was a 6x10 trailer that she used for her travelling business. Some of the quilts in it were irreplaceable...including a wedding quilt that had pictures of her wedding in it. We lived near that area for a few years in the 90's. dh says that in NC that trailer must be licensed and therefore insured. However that doesn't mean the contents would be covered since it is auto insurance....and since it is listed as a business homeowners probably won't cover. We had a shop vac stolen from one of our cars right after we were married. Auto insurance wouldn't cover it and we rented and didn't have renters insurance. I feel bad for her, chances are she's just out of luck.
