I have pegboard behind my quilt room door - its 4' by 4' and has a ton of "S" hooks -- I hang up all the templates according to sizes and the extra cutting mats (smaller ones) hang at the very bottom. My rulers hang on hooks I affixed to the end of the cabinets - easy to get to and stored out of the way, as I didn't have enough room at the bottom of my peg board (and wanted easier access). My cabinets are our old kitchen cabinets, painted with new knobs, so I didn't mind putting some holes on the end to hang things. I could see someone using a lid rack on a counter and storing rulers there, too.

if there is no hole already, i drill a small nail hole and hang the rulers on the side of my cutting table. the smaller ones go in a drawer. my templates go in an oversized file folder.

for this christmas I got a wall rack to hold my rulers, templates, large and small - here is the website. It is made in Montana, I try to buy made in USA as much as I can and support the artisan/craftsman as much as I can. Money is tight, but this product is worth it!!!
www.clydes-workshop.com,
it hangs over my sewing maching, and I love it.

I use a letter/file holder from the office supply store for the big ones and keep those on my cutting table.

Small/specialty ones I keep in ziplock bags with their instructions and store in a clear/plastic drawers that I buy from Walmart. There are 3 drawers to a unit and they come in different sizes. Best time to buy is right after local colleges have started for the new school year.

this is similar to what I have for my larger rulers: http://www.amazon.com/Fellowes-Deskt...ef=pd_sbs_op_2

I like to store mine on the wall so I can see them. All of one kind, like circle, I put together with a shower curtain hoop, and then I use the 3M Command hooks on the wall above my cutting table. I also have a square plastic basket sitting on my cutting table for the smaller templates, this basket also holdes my marking pens, fabric weights and giant pincushion.

Some GREAT ideas here. And nhweaver, I did check out Clyde's website .... those holders look like they would work great and very reasonably priced.

And I did *click* on everyone else's links too!!! Just in a bit of a hurry now (and Clyde's was the last one I looked at and remember the best!!!). Have to babysit my new grandbaby (our first) and have to leave in a few minutes.

Any and all other ideas appreciated!!!

thanks
