I got side tracked and delayed this AM so just wanted to say I love your combination of blues since they really do remind me of the sea.

I love what you've done so far and it looks just like the Storm at Sea.

Very pretty great colors. I have been collecting some fabric to do this pattern. I want to do a 12 inch square.I have done some research on the pattern. A lot of choices. Did you use a certain template? a friend of mine got the Wendy Mathson storm at see book. But her patterns are 9 inch block my friend also has the Marti michell pattern. I am a beginner quilter and have tried a practice Block...wow lots of points to match up. Any helpful hint?

i am using the creative grids ruler. i've never bought a quilt specific ruler before and i have often scoffed at them, but i gotta say....

my points match. and with the number of bias cuts going on i can even say the blocks look pretty square to me so far. i did starch both sides of the fabric but even still....i think that ruler is really helping. i don't use it for longer cuts, but i do use it to test the square-ness of my squares and the angles. it was worth the price for me, for this project..

thank you so much for your encouragement and kind words. i'm 15 blocks in and pretty chuffed with it so far
