Storm at Sea Quilt
#1
Finally got the top together, just have to decide on the borders. It measures 65 X 76, it needs to measure at least 84 x 90 after quilting & binding. Now my questions are, 1. How much extra width & length do I need to figure in for quilting (the quilting makes it shrink up a bit doesn't it?) 2. I was thinking 3 borders, a narrow green border, a purple border and a light blue border. But in what order? I have attached pictures of 2 blue fabrics I have, but will need to buy another purple & a green.
Love the optical illusion of curved piecing

Your SAS came out great! I too love that optical illusion of curved piecing that forms with this pattern and SAS is definitely in my que. For borders, I would try audtioning your darkest color as a narrow inner border. I think a very dark narrow inner border will make your peicing pop. The other two borders you can lay out and decide. I really like that seashell fabric.

a 3" white border all the way around will make your piecing seem to "float" and looks so pretty. Then a narrow green or lt. blue and finish with the dark blue and bind in the dark blue. You did a wonderful job.
