What does one do with tons of orange strips left over from a quilt? LOL I must have cut enough strips to make at least 3 more quilts because I still have a bagfull of them. I just kept collecting orange fabrics and cutting them into strips till I had a bag of them, figuring I'd need a lot for a big quilt. I barely made a dent it seems. And orange is not a color I will be using as a rule.
A little maybe for scrappys, but not a whole bagful... Any suggestions of what I could put with orange to make it less.... orange? and not look like the 70's. lol.

Add black and make quilts for Halloween.

Add brown and make quilts for the Oregon State Beavers. (We see those colors a lot around here.)

A little orange, or gold, will add zing to most color combinations. But a lot of orange...will still be orange. I like orange, a lot, but not everyone does.

Orange is great with magenta and aqua.
Also with yellows and peach.
Use it with blues.
Try orange, rose, soft purple, with touches of aqua on a pale yellow background.

Use some of the strips as narrow borders/flanges in other quilts.
Are the wide enough for bindings?

Wow, I think you have a treasure!

Maybe do a black and white quilt or some other neutral color themed quilt and use a little orange for some color. Fall themed quilts or table runner would work, too.

orange goes so well with black and brown, maybe you could make a couple quilts with those colors added in.

I don't think you would have any trouble selling or trading them here!

Hey wildyard,

May I suggest our family adopt you? We have a ton of University of Florida (orange! blue!) relatives. Alternately, Auburn University fans (orange! blue!) would love those orange strips for scrappy quilts, but I can't in good conscience recommend that to anyone.

Blue is the natural compliment. Lavenders will work with orange in the right hues. how about a childs quilt. kids love bright colors. Orange would pop a lot of things.

I have to laugh here about you cutting strips and collecting orange. I didn't collect orange but got strip happy in my cutting. I cut some from every fabric in my stash and even BOUGHT some 1/8th yards just to add in. I was going to make a spider web. Well, I made a small spiderweb for the table and one teardrop strip one for the bed. Had not made much of a dent but tired of it so passed to son and wife who each made a strip quilt and added some fabrics. Meanwhile, I now decide I am now in the mood to make another so am cutting more strips and NOW they tell me the box is comming back to me with more in it than when it started. Hummmmm think it will return on their door step when done.
