Wonderful quilts. Thank you ever so much, Highmtn. I look and studied each one and I'm going to go through them again. I was even paying attention to the secondary designs that were created. Everyone of these quilts are different from kathdavis's quilts. After viewing her Black and White one, I wondered what a black and white with red centers would look like and you found one in that gallery. Thanks again for taking the time to find that resource. Maybe it will inspire someone else as well!

Funny, you say that. I wanted to make red centers in my daughter's and she said only black and white. I like the red centers. I was amazed at all the different quilts using the 10 minute blocks. Loved looking at all of them.

Here's what I think would be the best way to go. Using some "unwanted" fabric, make a sample of each possible version that you are considering (after all, they only require 10 minutes!). I'm guessing that you will soon see which of these appeals to you the most. I've even made this block with one inside another. It is amazing.

Default anything goes

I work at a LQS and my boss did a quilt for my new grandson using a themed fabric of pirate teddy bears the pictures were 5 inches so she adjusted the blocks to fit the design and filled in with colors that she pulled from the themed fabric. Turned out great and the grandson loves the quilt with its bright colors.

I did the 10 min block in scrappy colors - each 4 block differant with the center block the same. In bright pinks, greens and orange. looks great! Sorry no pictures available on this computer.

PS -- kathdavis -- absolutely love the black and white/the three sizes are fabulous

Thank you, travlr99. My daughter loves it and she is so hard to please because she doesn't like homemade items, so I'm happy. I love the 10 minute block because it looks so hard and is so easy. Your scrappy quilt has got to be beautiful especially in those colors. How fun!
