My first choice would be blue but since it is for a girl, that's out. I would bind with the border or the green that is in all the leaves.
Welcome to the Quilting Board!

My first choice would be blue but since it is for a girl, that's out. I would bind with the border or the green that is in all the leaves.
For quilts like these that are multicolored (and especially baby quilts), I tend to love a striped binding! So just another option to consider!
I would go with either the border fabric or the same dark blue shade as in the border. I also think luvspaper's idea of a striped fabric would be cute if you can find a stripe in the same colors as in the border.
I like the idea of using the border fabric as binding....lighter colors look nice, but tend to show dirt faster or even stain darker with use.
I was thinking of a solid or something that reads solid and in a color that you pull from the border. I think that will tie it all in nicely. I just happen to like my bindings to be a little different.
I think I have that pattern in a book of baby quilts, but I've never made it. I like your color choices.
What a pretty quilt! It is perfect for a girl, and I would bind it in the same fabric as the last border...or maybe in a darker blue. Just beautiful. I have never accepted that blue was for boys and pink for girls. Blue is for everyone.

Very cute quilt! I would go with yellow or green.
If a woman's work is never done....why start?
What about the "flanged" border that has a tutorial on the site here? Sunny yellow for the flange part and either the border fabric or a strip with those colors or the darker blue as the "bulk" of the border?

You could use the same aqua in your background...

My first response would be to pick up the dark blue that is in the border flowers, but if that is not available and you have more border fabric I would do that. I shy away with lighter fabrics because they get dirty and some times it doesn't wash out as well.
