Does anyone use sulky thread to machine quilt? I just bought a brother 400 and was wondering if I could use the sulky ? Thanks for your help, Michele

I sure would give it a try but I don't know if that's the right answer.

Although the Sulky 40 weight is pretty, I had difficulty with it breaking. If I used anything other than the same in the bobbin, it broke constantly.
When I slowed my machine right down, then it did alright.
Try it in your machine. Try different needles (larger eye) and try slowing down to give the thread time to pull through. Trying out several threads on your machine and trying different techniques will take you a long way in finding what works best for you.

sulky makes a number of different threads, some for quilting, some for embroidery, some for sewing,... the company doesn't really matter, just buy a good machine thread that is 40-50 wt. poly works fine, rayon...cotton thread breaks alot when machine quilting because of the speed of the machine.but sulky is the company that has threads, not the thread itself, like mettler, yli, gutterman, superior, the list goes on and on
