    There is a stabilizer on the back so all edges are turned under. It is not fusible however. I have 50 different stitches but not sure I want to do it in black thread as has been suggested.

    My first Sun Bonnet Sue is next on my list. I appreciate reading everyone's tips. My mother made a SBS in 1933 by hand when she was 12 and I plan to try to reproduce her pattern.

    I would machine applique them. If you ever want to make a Sunbonnet Sue from scratch, check out Quilt in a Day. I think you might find the pattern easy to do.Good Luck!
