St. Vinney's helps out the needy. If someone goes to St. Vinney's in need, they may get that quilt. And if someone buys the quilt. the proceeds go to help the needy. And if someone buys the quilt, they wanted it, and will probably use it and give it all the love it deserves. So giving to thrift stores is not always bad. It just feels sad that the owner or owner's children didn't cherish or want the quilt.

I've made a lot of quilts over the years and have them displayed in my house on a rotating basis. I only have one daughter who has no children. I'm considering putting notes on the back of some of my favorites suggesting who they might be passed on to. Probably nobody will ever love them like I do.
