Default Sweet 16

Several of us on the board have the Sweet 16.
I have been wondering where you buy your needles and what sizes you use.
I just don't understand the numbers/sizes at Wawak. Which ones do you get?
Thanks, Linda

In a pinch I buy my needles at my LQS, they are a Sweet 16 dealer. You can also purchase them cheaper and in larger quantities online. Do an Internet search, you will find many places to buy them.

I read that one of the ladies on the board got a good deal at Wawak but I don't know what size to order or the number.

When in doubt you can always call HQ support @ 1-877-697-8458. The needles that I have Groz-Beckert sizes NM 110/18, 110/16 and 90/14. Funny, I never really looked at the sizes before.

You should have gotten a package with your machine. You do have to be careful. You need to have an R somewhere. The package I just happened to have here at work are Groz-Beckert 10 Nm 110/18 and there is an r in the lower right hand corner. I got them from Superior Threads.

The thread dictates what needle size you want to use in your HQ16 (or comparable LA) I have an innova on a rack and also use Groz-Beckert needles. Below is a handy link to Superior's charts showing which needle sizes they recommend for each thread. I use 14 and 16 mostly (I use mostly Glide thread) but when I use King Tut I go to an 18. If you end up shredding your top thread a lot chances are you need to go to a bigger size needle.

Looking at Organ needles, I guess 135X5 and a D something confuses me.
