brand new iron on the market
#1
I posted this at the end of an old thread and then figured no one would notice it-so I thought I would post again. Since there seems to be a discussion about irons that crops up periodically, I thought I would share this new one with everyone. I am thinking about getting one.
This is a brand new iron that will be on the market in a few weeks. I saw it advertised in the December American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. It comes with a cute carrier that doubles as a pressing mat when you open it. It would be great for retreats and classes. It also has a feature that allows you to choose whether you want automatic shut off or have the iron stay on until you shut it off.

That's an interesting iron. I have read great reviews about the Reliable iron. It has a separate steam chamber built in the iron, so no drips ever. The new version has an auto off selector. Use the auto off or not.

And, I wonder how the steam vents are configured on the bottom of the iron. I used an iron in a quilting class that was so frustrating because the holes for the steam to come out kept catching on seam intersections, and I was doing more damage than good by pressing with it.

Speaking of irons, I have one with the Teflon soleplate and I just HATE it.
I got it as a gift, so I shouldn't complain but I will NEVER have another one, gift or not.
And yes, the steam holes on the bottom always catch corners, seams, everything. GGGGGUUUUURRRRR.
Thanxs, I feel much better now.
