I love this idea and I'm so glad you thought of it. I never have the floor space to use and even if I did, with two dogs underfoot, I'm sure some dog hair would find its way into the quilt. I have tons of wall space though. I like the idea of a muslin strip to anchor the three layers two. This is one brilliant idea on your part!!

lol. That's what I ended up doing when working on Nick's quilt. It was difficult for me trying to sandwich things together that finally I decided to baste the batting to the back and than sew that to the top. I got the idea to pin the backing to the wall with push pins and then pin the batting to the backing. Worked just fine. It seemed like a crazy idea at the time so I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of it. :D

omgosh, wish mom still had her's.........we're showing we older than Patrice with the memory of those curtain stretchers. Twice a year, hand wash, stretch on the nail heads in the sun and watch those babies dry. Nice not to HAVE to do that anymore but would be wonderful for our quilting.

Wonder if any in the antique stores?????

I have a hunch most of the nails are rusted out and the wood has split because it's so dry.
