My mil gave me a unfinished quilt the last time we visited to finish. Which has such a great little story. It's a beautiful quilt and once I finish I will post a pic.
It seems that her step daughters mother had started this quilt before she passed away. And my mil has had this quilt for years setting in a box waiting until she could find someone to finish it. The step daughter asked her one day if her mother had left any quilts. My mil told her no. Not to be mean, but because she knew that this quilt wasn' t finished and the step daughter would need to find somone to do it, and my mil was afraid she never would. So she asked me if I would finish for her to give to the step daughter for Christmas. This step daughter is going to be blown away when she sees this, and knows that it was something her mother had been working on. I told my mil, that I would finish it. And when done I would make a label that says something about being from the mother to the daughter on it. I wish I was going to get to see this moment of passing on the quilt. But just hearing about it will most likely make my day. The backing on this quilt is all white muslin and the top is light colors. And there isn't one spot on this quilt so it has been taken very good care of in the mean time. Don't you just love when someone actually takes care of quilts?

Oh she will be so surprised when she receives the quilt. And she will know that it was made out of love. :) Can't wait to see a picture of the quilt when it is all done. :)
