Angry Tension problems with my Janome 8077....help!

I am new to the board and I'm loving all the helpful information and wonderful pictures! I purchased the Janome 8077 in February of this year and have had great success with the machine. However, the last two times I've used it there have been some tension issues. On top my stitches look wavy instead of straight. On the bottom I can see the knot (from the top thread I assume).

Here is what I've tried so far, with no success of course!
    • Cleaned the bobbin holder and everything around it
    • changed needles
    • rethreaded the machine
    • adjusted the tension using the dial on the machine...from 2 - 7 and nothing there is working

I'm using cotton fabric and all purpose thread. I've just been sewing about a year, so I'm not sure what other information might be helpful in figuring out my problem.

I've done a lot of searching online, but I can't find any information on what might be the cause and how I can fix this. Does anyone out there have this machine or this problem? Thanks!

I've been dealing with the same problem! I posted a thread titled "So Frustrated". I got some good ideas there. You may check it out. I'm going to take my machine to the dealer so they can walk me through step by step to see where I'm going wrong... If you figure out what's going wrong, let me know on my thread, please!! Good luck
