First let me say that this website is awesome - everyone is so helpful - thanks to you all I have improved in my ventures to quilt. My question is: Has anyone bought & used glo in the dark fabric? Did you have any problems with the fabric? I would like to use some in a quilt has anyone tried this? If you have can you recommend a website to purchase the material?

We carry several glow-in-the-dark fabrics.

http://www.favoritefabric.com/cgi/co...&keywords=glow

I have not used any of them myself, but Avlyn (the manufacturer of several of them) says that you do need to expose the fabric to a light source to "charge it up", and that eventually the glow material will wash off the fabric.

So, to me, it means that it would be better to use it in a quilt (which gets washed occasionally) than in pajamas (which will be washed more frequently).

Hope this is of some help!

You can also buy glow in the dark thread. I have a spool but haven't used it yet. I have a panel with outerspace stuff in it. Plan to use it to quilt with.

Nan - I really like that fabric!

I have not used the material but did do some embroidery for my grandkids camping quilt with glow in the dark thread! They loved to look at all the glowing bugs I did when they went to bed.

Thank you all - I never thought of glow in the dark thread that might give me what I'm looking for - thinking of doing the floating 3D cubes and with the thread I would be able to sew around them that might be more striking - I also loved the website with the materials - as I've said before this site and all of you are AWESOME.
