Janome F1 Error

Janome F1 Error
I was FMQ'ing...working great...half way done and I got F1 Error. The top thread gets stuck in the bobbin area..Help how do I fix this? I have tried everything...

I have that error often as well. My favorite needle for quilting is the 90/14. My bad habit is I don't always pull the bobbin thread up to the top as I quilt.That might help. I also find I have to be very particular in getting the bobbin thread through its pathways and making sure it doesn't pop out. Something I also learned here that I now do, is I keep the bottom feet up, rather than lowering them. It works great. You have been here longer than I have so you probably know these things. I just know that the Janome seems fussy when it comes to that darn bobbin.

I fix it...and found the problem...I took out the black bobbin case and under it was a huge amount of lint. The link preveented the bobbin case to lay down correctly so that the thread was getting stuck on a metal piece preventing the thread to move...so glad I figured this out...Now I just have a pounding headache...but its fixed.

I have been trying a new way of FMQ'ng today...its working great..I have been using the preset regular sewing setting and leaving the Dogfeeds up and not covering them. The stitches look great...so easy and no thinking..just make sure you pull the bobbin thread to the top. I have been starting on the edge on the batting....and changing the bobbin when its close to the end also on the batting that way the stitch is in well and no knots in my quilt. Well back to quilting...its getting there..oh and gutterman 100 percent cotton.

So glad I was able to finish my Quilt...I was so worried that I broke my machine...my hubby says I should become a sewing machine Tech...LOL....I am amazed on how many things on my machine that I have learnt to fix or know whats wrong with it. My quilt is in the washer and sooooo...happy I got it done. I will be giving my brother his quilt on Thanksgiving day.
