Default Thanks to you all - my Valentines

Thank to all the inspiration and tutorials on this board I finally tried my first applique and the little red flange on the binding. Over the past few months I have learned so much on this board that when I replaced the old placemats on our table I was surprised at how crudely they were done. My progress in this quilting adventure is so much your doing. I was pretty much self-taught until I found you all. So many thanks and Happy Valentines to all of you.

They are really nice! Your table is going to look very smart with those placemats. I love the little extra zip that the red flange adds to the edge. I am a huge fan of Charismah's tutorial of Quick machine binding with flange.

Thanks, Tartan. Charismah's tute is where I learned it, but I look at so many of the tutes I couldn't remember where it was. They would have been boring without that littld touch of red.

I wish I could help on identifying the fabric, but when I reorganized my sewing room it just showed up. Can't remember when or where I bought it...maybe I didn't and it just moved in on its own. Now if I could only find the 6 yds of red bandana fabric I bought for backing my husband's quilt.
