Thanks again for all of the warm comments. Two things need to be done. I forgot to add a label, and I want to make a matching tote so she can lug it around. I can just see her sitting on the little train which goes around the sea, tote with quilt in her lap, talking with others on the train. It was a friendly community when we were there last year. She's still getting use to the widow thing. With the tote, she can just explain the quilt by showing the blocks on the tote. I can't wait until our "son" sees it. I know he'll phone and try to translate all of her emotion. Gads! I wish that lad would get a computer, e-mail, Skype and Face Book.

Who is this quilt for anyway, her or the neighbors? You did very well. She will be surprised and will show it off with pride!

I think it is lovely. Very beachy. You are way too critical of your own work. I just love it.

It looks very cozy and comfortable to me. I'll bet her child felt just that way when with you. Beautiful quilt.

I'm still trying to figure out why your heart sank---it is a beautiful quilt!

It's beautiful! I find that doing justice to a quilt in a photo is harder than making the quilt!

I looked as closely as one can on a computer monitor. All I see is beauty and love. I second or third the question, "What is the problem? Why did your heart sink"? Don't see an issue. It is just beautiful!!!
