Default Are there any nonglare rulers?

I do my rotary cutting under an overhead light, and the glare from my ruler makes it really hard to see the lines and the fabric under it without leaning over to block the light. Are there any rulers that aren't shiny and reflective? I use an Omni Edge and an O'Lipfa, and I'm happy with them except for the glare!

Yes ... look for the "frosted" rulers.
Olfa make them ... possibly others.

I have an Olfa frosted 6 x 24 that is completely non glare. I bought this ruler to use when I'm at classes because most lighting in the rooms give bad glare. It's non slip too. It works great. http://www.olfa.com/RulersDetail.asp...6&snLocation=1

I had exactly the same problem so I sprayed my rulers with Minwax Polyurethane - clear satin and it works a treat. Its the fast drying kind and I just used two thin coats. Some newer rulers are anti-glare, but I saved a fortune and still have my favorites.

Does the spray Polyurethane scratch easily?

This is my absolutely favorite ruler! I have also purchased other sizes of this frosted ruler too. Omnigrid rulers are horrible when it comes to glare!

This is a great idea! I'm having the same problem and I'll try the Minwax spray. Thanks!

I bought the frosted rulers. I get optical migraines and reflecting light can set it off. Grrrrr
