I must say it isn't for the faint of heart. About mid way her story gets very hard to hear.

I'm not a member. Would you be willing at some point to tell us the story when you can?

That's a good interview but is nothing like the video. She grew up with an abusive grandmother who beat her because she was illegitimate on a remote Scotland island. She was raped when she was five, left to die with TB on the side of the road, begged a gypsy to steal her away, volunteered to go to Africa to help a tribe that no one wanted to help. Was instructed to watch as the young 7 year old girls were circumcised with table knives or razor blades, delivered babies, and on and on. Her escape was through her quilting. Watching her make one of her creations is spellbinding. The poor soul is so hauntingly fragile but stronger than most of us.

    Thanks Bella.
What a woman to overcome all that.
    Her quilts are beautiful!
